Eifers was engaged to re-develop the existing carpark area out the front of the reception that was old basketball court converted in to a poorly designed carpark. The new carpark included a new flowing design with parking a drive through drop off area and pedestrian crossing.
The project involved removal of asphalt, dirt and vegetation from site. The new carpark would be double the size of the existing and to facilitate this we had to excavate a large area of grass & dirt to reach compactable ground. However we had numerous trees that had to be protected as they were to be part of the new carpark. There were 4 new crossover to be built which required traffic/ pedestrian management and council inspections. The subgrade works included geo-fabric, pits and drainage, fire main extension, compaction of 400T of Class 3 crush rock and installing of root protection material.
Once all the concrete and asphalt works were the completed, the final landscaping of plants, mulch and safety instruction signage including line marking were finished. Working with the design team this project took 6 weeks which was ahead of schedule and on budget. The school were extremely happy with the project and now gives them a more professional entrance that allows the safe arrival of the students.
